In 1988, I discovered my calling.
My high school psychology class spent a week discussing the topic of child abuse. I was appalled. How could only one week be devoted to such a horrific subject?
From that moment on, I knew I was going devote myself to being a therapist helping people heal from child abuse.
Through the ups and downs and traumas in my own life, I realized I was motivated to help all trauma survivors.
I’ve been privileged to be a part of healing for so many people, young and old, through various experiences that had been plaguing them, holding them back from living the healthy happy lives that they wanted and deserved. I love the work that I do and can’t imagine doing anything else.
Except of course, motherhood. My two children keep me on my toes and are a constant reminder of how amazing life can be when we move past our difficulties and are really able to live our lives.
